The bags actually prevent freezer burn plus they are conveniently safe for boiling or the microwave to make reheating frozen home-cooked meals a cinch.

All of the following group of accessories work with the included hose, which connects the FoodSaver appliance to the storage container and removes all of the air. Two canisters--in 3/4 quart and 1-1/2 quart sizes--hold liquid items, such as soups or sauces, or keep dry goods, such as cookies or potato chips, crisp and crunchy. A 5-1/2-inch-diameter universal lid vacuum is thrown in to seal half-eaten containers of store-bought foods, such as coffee, tomato sauce, or soup, in their original glass jars or metal cans. In addition, a wide-mouth jar sealer preserves jams, sauces, or fruit in wider Mason jars and two bottle stoppers prevent spoilage in opened bottles of wine, oil, or vinegar.
